Shipments of touch-screen panels for notebook  PCs have fallen off a cliff.

After Q-on-Q growth of 200%+ in Q32012,  3000% in Q42012 and 50% in Q12013, shipments of touch-screen panels for notebook PCs fell 4.9% in Q2 2013, says IHS.

The collapse reflects “generally terrible conditions in the mobile PC segment,” says IHS’ Duke Yi.

Q2 notebook shipments fell 5.1%  in Q2 – the first time the notebooks have declined since Q2 2002 during the dot.com collapse.

Notebook touch panel ASPs fell 10% in the quarter, despite a move to larger sizes.
